Aeronautics is one of the using preference field of metallic materials, especially thanks to :
  • their mechanical specifications ;
  • their physical properties ;
  • their behavior particularities ;
  • their capabilities of manufacturing.
But the ideal metallic material don't exist : it would have the lightness of the aluminium, the strength of the titanium and the using adaptability of steel. Nevertheless, progress in refining and manufacturing process and in thermal treatment and surfacing process, have using future potentialities very attractive.

For save and broadcast the metallic materials characteristics, Cybel has designed with the Aerospatiale Matra Group (EADS), a knowledge database. As a real multimedia training tool, it directly responds to a specific problem. Its organization allows the use by a vast audience ranging from a simple worker to an engineer at various levels of knowledge. As a real multimedia training tool, it directly responds to a specific problem. Its evolution will integrate the constant development of technologies through simple and systematic upgrades.

This knowledge database contains two separate volumes :
  • first volume including 2000 screens-pages : " Knowledge of metallic materials ", formed by three parts : the basic knowledges, the mechanical specifications and the material categories ; they give a well-advised lighting on their capabilities to answer at the technical end economic requirement of products.
  • Second volume including 1400 screens-pages : " Manufacturing of metallic materials ", formed by two parts : Processes of manufacturing of metallic materials and quality ; they allow a best control of metallic processes and of means of quality.

Autonomie pédagogique

At the workplace and in a working environment : use of the system in situ establishing a genuine consistency between the operations to be carried out and their learning process.
From one minute to several weeks : easy access on a need basis, access to a training unit or participation in a complete course.

 

 

De l'individu au collectif

Use on an independant basis or within a classroom framework. Operating modes according to the needs :

"directed" mode : sequential procedure of the course
"consultation" mode: direct access
"customized lesson" mode : cooking advance
"evaluation" mode: set of tests

Evaluation des connaissances

Series of tests for the student's self-evaluation.
Corrected exercises for the student's continuous learning assessment.
The training progression is followed up by a management programme which analyses the results of the learner or the learning group. 

 

Structure

The knowledge database includes 24 modules divided into two tracks :

"Knowledge of metallic materials" track, which mainly apply to engineers and senior technicians professing in design, planning, recorder, expertise and buyer ;
"Manufacturing of metallic materials" track which mainly apply to :
    • the engineers and senior technicians professing in design, planning, recorder, expertise and buyer ;
    • the technicians of the workshop (especially foremen, skilled and semi-skilled workers).
